COCKPIT INSPECTION
1. Oxygen Control Valve - CHECK IN NORMAL.
2. Oxygen Masks - CHECKED and PROPERLY STOWED (check mask at 100% and in EMER, check mic).
3. Circuit Breakers - CHECK.
4. Standby Gyro Switch - TEST (momentary); GREEN LIGHT ON.
5. Standby Gyro - ON; CHECK AMBER LIGHT ON.
6. Battery Switch - BATT.
7. Battery Voltage - CHECK (24 volts minimum).
8. Avionics Power - ON. (Wait for both AHRS to fully initialize).
9. Battery Switch - EMER (check power to emergency bus items and DC/DC converter operation).
NOTE
•
With the battery switch in emergency position, power should be supplied to:
•
COMM 1, NAV 1, Overhead Floodlights, Pilot's and Copilot's Audio Panels, Standby Engine N1 indicator, Flap Control, Voltmeter, RH Pitot Static Heater, Standby Altimeter/Airspeed (Vibrator), Standby HSI, Copilot's AHRS, Landing Gear Control, Landing Gear M
•
COMM-1/NAV-1 can be used on emergency bus for clearance/ATIS, without operating other airplane equipment, if needed prior to start.
•
Ensure proper operation of DC/DC converter by verifying standby HSI HDG flag is not present when switching from BATT to EMER.
10. Battery Switch - BATT.

CAUTION: ITT MAY APPROACH 1000°C DURING BATTERY STARTS AT HIGHER ELEVATION AIRPORTS. EXTERNAL POWER UNIT WITH AT LEAST 800 AMP CAPACITY IS REQUIRED FOR FIRST ENGINE START AT AIRPORTS WITH ELEVATION ABOVE 10,000 FEET. IF EXTERNAL POWER UNIT WITH VARIABLE S
11. External Power - CONNECTED (if applicable).
12. ATIS/Clearance - CHECK (if required).
13. Rotary Test Switch - WARNING SYSTEMS CHECKED.
14. Radar - OFF or STBY.
15. Avionics Power - OFF.
16. Generators - GEN (OFF if external power is to be used for start).
17. Fuel Boost - NORM.
18. Fuel Transfer - OFF.
19. AHRS Slave - AUTO.
20. Parking Brake - SET.
21. Windshield Bleed Air Valves - OFF.
22. Control Lock - OFF. (Ensure that the handle is fully in and controls and throttles are free.)
23. Pilot AHRS REV - NORM (Copilot NORM if installed).
24. Landing Gear Control - DOWN.
25. Landing Gear Lights - CHECK green lights illuminated and unlock light out.
26. Antiskid - ON.
27. Standby Gyro Caging Knob - UNCAGED and NO FLAG.
28. Engine Instrument Warning Indicators - NO FLAGS.
29. Air Conditioner - OFF.
30. Air Source Select - AS REQUIRED.
31. R AHRS Slave - AUTO.
32. Throttles - OFF.
33. Thrust Attenuator Switch - AUTO.
34. Engine Synchronizer - OFF.
35. All Other Switches - OFF or NORM.
36. Battery - OFF (if there is a delay before engine start, or ON with ground power unit).
